SHARKS AREN'T FOR CHEAPSKATES

$16,000: The possible cost of hiring a live shark exhibit for the El Paso County Fair. The Fair Board is considering "Live Shark Encounter" as the centerpiece for the 2007 fair in Calhan.

The board also is considering these other acts:

Top hogs, dogs and parrots

ZOO IS ZONE FOR HALLOWEEN

Families can celebrate Halloween at the Denver Zoo. This year's theme for the celebration is Wild, Wild West. There will be more than 25 trick-or-treat stations, stories, Western-themed entertainment and animal demonstrations.

What: 22nd annual Boo at the Zoo

Where: Denver Zoo

When: Saturday and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
