THORNTON Horizon High School was evacuated at around noon today due to a bomb threat.
"Its a precautionary measure," said Matt Barnes, spokesman for Thornton Police. "Right now, it doesnt appear that the threat is credible."
It was unclear when exactly the threat was called in to the school, 5321 E. 136th Ave., but it was reported to Thornton police, which advised the school to evacuate.
According to district procedure, the students were evacuated to the football field of the school, where they will remain until the police gives the all-clear signal.
The threat came two days after a 19-year-old Englewood man was arrested with 280 rounds of ammunition and a rifle after allegedly making threats against the school and 8 days after a Bailey girl was shot to death at Platte Canyon High School.
