A former Denver police officer pleaded guilty to harassment charges and was sentenced to a year of probation and 30 hours of community service.
Adam Nuanez, 34, was arrested in June for harassment and trespass after he answered a call to a motel in west Denver concerning a problem with a female motel guest.
Nuanez returned to the room about 15 minutes after the officers left the motel and entered the womans room.
The woman told police investigators that Nuanez asked her personal questions and told her that he "wanted to be with her."
The woman said she rejected his advances but felt she was being held in the room against her will.
After a two-month investigation, Nuanez was arrested and Chief Gerry Whitman suspended him without pay.
Nuanez originally was charged with harassment, official misconduct and official oppression.
With his guilty plea today, the other counts were dismissed as part of the guilty plea agreement.
Nuanez also had to resign from the police department.
