A Rifle man who made a public plea to the Colorado Lottery to honor an expired ticket is taking it all back.
Turns out the ticket he thought was a $40,000 winner wasn't - ever.
"Going over it, I see that it is not a winner," said Bob Clements, 48. "Everybody missed it, even the lawyer. I missed it until just now."
Clements said he found the ticket in his drawer in February, past the Dec. 19, 2005, deadline for claiming a prize. He explained that he had misread letters in the "hang- man" game.
