Pair of Playmates arrested after incident on plane

Two Playboy magazine Playmates were arrested Sunday after they allegedly got drunk and unruly on a flight from Denver to San Antonio. CBS 4 News reported Wednesday the two Playmates were taken into custody when the flight landed.

Danielle Gamba, 23, and Carrie Minter, 22, were allegedly so drunk on the plane that they were deemed a danger to themselves and others.

According to police reports, the women fought with each other and with passengers.

San Antonio authorities say the episode became even more bizarre when Gamba made sexual advances toward two police officers in an attempt to avoid arrest.

Panel: State's schools are doing better, but . . .

Colorado high schools are doing better, but are still plagued by high drop-out rates and poor preparation of students for college.

That's the conclusion of the Colorado Commission for High School Improvement. The panel was privately funded, but included numerous educators and elected officials.

The group's report says high schools should make better use of data from state and local achievement tests to shape curriculum.

Districts should support a variety of high schools, all of which follow the state academic standards, but which use different teaching methods to reach students with varying learning styles, the report says.

School districts have moved to make better use of test data, said Van Schoales, a vice president of the Colorado Children's Campaign, which funded the commission and provided staff help. But most of that effort has occurred at lower levels, not in high schools, Schoales said.
