A REAL ICE BREAKER
Republican state Senate candidate Matt Knoedler took time out from knocking on doors in the Belmar neighborhood this week to help an elderly resident shovel her walk. The woman uses an oxygen tank and the tube was getting tangled in her shovel handle.
Afterward, Knoedler, of Lakewood, asked if she had any questions about his campaign.
"Can you come back next time it snows?" she said.
Said Knoedler: "I'm kind of worried that if I don't go back Saturday, when it's expected to snow next, I may not get her vote."
PUCK STOPS HERE
A little bit of snow and ice doesn't bother Knoedler. He's a youth ice hockey coach for the Foothills Park and Recreation District and plays in an adult "huff and puff" hockey league.
