Proctor: Look for these trends in '06

Some tech trends for the new year:
Coupons available on your cell phone. The service was launched in California two weeks ago (and is only available there at the moment), with plans to go national in 2006. For details, check out the service at www.cellfire.com.
Furniture made specifically to bring you into the video-game experience. OK, there already are some manufacturers who've come out with chairs that rattle and hum, but in '06, look for more 3-D gaming technology, built-in surround sound, motion sensors and more.
More cell phones with QWERTY keyboards, and LCD screens that can play videos, and display photos and Web pages.
More, and still better, high-definition televisions. But even as the technology gets better, look for prices to continue to move down, albeit slower than most of us would like.
More lawsuits concerning intellectual property. The Research in Motion vs. NTP saga over BlackBerry technology is probably the first of many high-stakes courtroom battles.
Here's hoping you got the gadget you wanted - and it works.
