United plans to hire 70 flight attendants

United will start accepting applications Saturday for flight attendant positions at www.united.com/flightattendant.
The airline is hiring flight attendants in Denver for the first time in about six years.
The carrier hopes to hire 70 attendants by early October, when training classes begin.
United tied the move to two factors: It's hitting record load factors - a measure of how full its planes are - and continues to grow in Denver. The carrier also said some of the new hires will fill vacant positions.
The move is another indication of United's recovery after a brutal period that involved massive financial losses, huge job cuts and three years in bankruptcy protection.
The carrier emerged from Chapter 11 in February and recently posted its first quarterly profit in six years.
United, a unit of Chicago-based UAL Corp., is the largest carrier in Denver.
